My inspiration

My inspiration for teaching and research largely stems from the annually updated confrontations with new generations of undergraduates, graduates and postdocs. Each of them differs! It is always a great pleasure to be exposed to new talent, and it is a challenge to estimate as accurate as possible how much (or how little) suggestions and hints a student requires for developing his/her talent. Of course also the great international developments in my research area continue to be a source of inspiration for my own research, as well as for continuous updating my courses for students.
